Despite Coronavirus, On Labor Day USA Celebrates Those Who Create the World

Even with Coronavirus, it is important that we recognize the work we put into the world.

It is the Sunday of Labor Day weekend. In the United States it is the middle day of a three day weekend, with Monday being the official day of celebration. Many of us take off the Friday, and make it a four day weekend. We spend the day to honor Labor. The people who work everyday, who put the pieces of our things, our stuff, together are celebrated. The paper work, the code writing, the game inventors are celebrated. As are designers of all kinds and performing artists and engineers, celebrated. Full time moms, nurses and doctors are celebrated. The list is endless. What we each do everyday builds the world for all of us.

We use this time to gather with family and friends. This year most gatherings will be in smaller groups of family and very close friends. It is still the time of Coronavirus. We social distance as pods now, rather like dolphins, but we gather and celebrate that we are productive and alive. Even in these times, as our ways of operating in the world is changing, sometimes in some surprisingly creative and joyful ways, we push forward in our work and lives.
