Whether it is with the United States Air Force or during his career as a commercial pilot, Steven Siejkowski has always excelled when in the air.

After graduating from Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Science in Economics, Steven Siejkowski made the decision to enter the United States Air Force with the aim of becoming a pilot. This was not a decision that he made lightly and he dedicated himself to applying all of his pre-existing skills, in addition to learning new ones, so that he could become a standout professional who would be trusted during sensitive military operations.

Having excelled during his pilot training, during which he was awarded both the Academic Excellence Award and Flight Commanders Award, Steven Siejkowski became a C-17 pilot after reporting to McGuire Air Force Base. He served in the role for eleven years, participating in combat missions during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. In all, he logged 600 combat hours during his time in the military and came so highly recommended by his peers for his ability to keep his cool under pressure that he was chosen to fly Secretary of Defense Robert Gates into Columbia on one occasion.

During this time, he continued to focus on ways to improve his skillset, attending Aircraft Commander Upgrade School at Atlus Air Force Base in 2008 before also attending C-17 Instructor Pilot School at the same facility. At the same time, he also began working for commercial airlines, having been hired by Kalitta Air to fly 747-200 and 747-400 cargo planes in 2010.

He continued his career in aviation after leaving the military and he now works as a First Officer for a major airline, for whom he flies the A320. He has already logged more than 1,200 flight hours since he began working for the airline in 2014, which is a number that should rise considerably in the coming years.

Through it all, Steven Siejkowski has always aimed to improve on a professional level. As a commercial pilot, he has worked diligently to improve his interpersonal skills, making use of the training that he received in the military in the process. He hopes to find more ways to continue his professional development in the coming years, while also maintaining the high standards that he has already set for himself.
