Mylife.com, a Los Angeles based company announced that it is expanding its services with the new Mylife Social App and Dashboard.

This new "social dashboard" will help users manage all their social network profiles and email accounts in a single place, by using only one password. The new service, which is available on the computer and on mobile phones (only Android and iOS at the moment), will combine Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail and AOL accounts as well as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn profiles.

Jeff Tinsley, CEO of MyLife, declared that the new site is based on Threadsy which has been acquired by the company earlier in March. Threadsy is an integrated communication client that helped combine email accounts and social media profiles in a single central hub.

Mr. Tinsley also talked about the recent survey results that the company has published with Harris Interactive, regarding the current "State of Social Media". He said that the survey shows the people's obsession with social media and how everything can overwhelm the home-end user. 66% of the people surveyed said that they are afraid of missing an important event if they don't check up the news on their social feeds and 40% would prefer doing things like "going to the dentist for a major intervention" or "spending the night in jail" rather than giving up on social networking. Here's the complete list of what people would rather do instead of giving up on Facebook:

1 Read War and Peace

2 Run a marathon

3 Give up on an hour of sleep each night for a whole year

4 Go to the dentist for a major intervention

5 Wait in a huge line at the DMV

6 Clean the showers at their local gym

7 Give up on air conditioner

8 Do their taxes

The study showed that the respondents use different social networks for different purposes. Mr. Tinsley declared that "LinkedIn is number one for people consuming content, with Youtube and Twitter coming close behind". He also said that it is not surprising that Foursquare topped Facebook when talking about sharing, mainly because the main purpose of the network is sharing your location with your family and friends. With Pinterest also being the number one network where people equally consume and share content, it is clear that while Facebook is being used by more consumers, other networks specialize on niches and understand their clients' needs better.

Mr. Tinsley also said that the new service MyLife Social App and Dashboard is and will remain free.
