The EWP yellow card course offers students with the skills and knowledge for operating a boom-type elevating work platform under 11m and a scissor lift. 

 
The EWP yellow card training program is designed for people looking to develop the skills and knowledge needed to operate mobile elevating work platforms. The training course offers training in safely using the different types of elevated work platforms. These include the mobile elevating work platforms with a boom length under 11 metres. Participants taking this course can complete singular or multiple modules based on the type of EWP that they are operating. The modules include:

1. Vertical Lift (VL)

2. Scissor Lift (SL)

3. Self-Propelled Boom Lift (BL)

4. Trailer Lift (TL)

5. Truck Mounted Lift (TM)

6. Advanced Boom (AB)


What is the Course Outline of the EWP Yellow Card?

The EWP Yellow Card course offers a comprehensive training program with theoretical and hands-on training accredited by the EWPA. The complete EWP Yellow Card training course will teach you the skills needed to operate different MEWPs safely. The participants will have practical and theoretical knowledge of the following:

1. Hazard identification, risk assessment, and controls

2. Fall arrest harness inspection, fitting, and its use.

3. Identifying the sale and operating parameters with data plan and manual.

4. Conducting the pre and post-operational checks.

5. Operating EWP 

6. Emergency procedures

7. Theory assessment and observing practically and demonstration. 


EWPA Accredited Trainer

Completing the EWP yellow card training course through an EWP-accredited trainer, you will be more confident that the course will be delivered according to the EWPA code of practice and accredited trainer manual. All EWP-accredited trainers are qualified and must hold a certificate in training and assessment and significant industry experience. 

Once the EWP Yellow card course is complete, the accredited trainer will submit the training records to the EWPA, who shall approve the training and offer you the EWP operator license, proof of training, and your photograph on the card. Also, an interim record of training from the EWPA will be emailed to you upon your approval of the licence by the EWPA, and you can use this while operating a MEWP till you get the yellow card. The EWP yellow card will be posted to the supplied address. The training program doesn’t have any pre-requisite units. However, MEWPs need operators to understand the risks associated with their usage thoroughly.
