The size of the sheds can vary in size and shape according to the requirement of the person. They can be made from different types of material - the sheds can be made from wood, steel and other mixed materials depending on the usage of the sheds and also the items which are to be stored. There are different types of rural sheds which we shall understand in this article.

Small domestic sheds - these are the simplest and easiest sheds which are available in the market. They are very low in cost and available in kit form - this is the best when one has to move from one place to another. The shed kits are doing it yourself kits - you just need to learn how they are to be erected with the help of figures given on the kits. These smaller types of rural sheds are the best used in the gardens and also for small storage areas. These sheds use very less space and hence they never form an obstruction to the existing landscaping.

Large domestic sheds - these are expensive sheds and they are mostly used for industrial purposes. They are mostly constructed of wood and they are built in the form of a house with windows and doors. They have shingled roofs and also the required electrical outlets. In some cases there are workers who use these sheds as their offices and also residence if required.

Specific rural sheds - Specific rural sheds made for certain purposes - they are the garden sheds. The garden sheds are also known as the allotment sheds. The garden sheds also have the potting sheds and also the tool sheds. In these garden sheds you can store the tools and materials required for gardening.

Agricultural sheds - there are farms which have the rural farm sheds and outbuildings in their farms - these are used to store the farm products in some cases, whereas they also use them to shelter their farm animals like horses, cows and other different types of cattle. These sheds are easy to erect and the main attraction of these rural sheds is that they are a three structured building so that they can house the farm animals. Shearing sheds are the sheds that are used in order to house the sheep - in this shed you can house the sheep in large amounts. On the farm they also have a wood shed which is used to store large quantities of firewood. There are many people who store the firewood on the farm in order to sell them.
