Plug Valve Working Principle:

A plug valve's body, which has a tapered or parallel seating, accepts a plug. How much of the valve may open depends on where the port is located, which is a component of the plug's design. Ports are the openings in the valve body where liquid can enter or escape. A 90-degree stopper allows the fluid flow to be entirely opened or closed. Compared to plug valves, which can only be fully opened or closed, ball valves are more efficient.
When the aperture in the plug is parallel to the intake and outlet ports, flow through the valve resumes. There is a pressure drop caused by the plug port's decreased surface area. But when using a full-area cylindrical plug, the pressure decrease is barely noticeable.
