MLB owners did not see $1,466,494,344 go up in thin air last year, adding nothing to their teams’ performance.

“Coaches and trainers don’t tell their owners that the muscles of their players are only 20% efficient”, explains Somax Performance Institute president Bob Prichard. “This means that 80% of their effort swinging a bat, running to base and pitching a ball goes up in heat; only 20% of their muscle energy actually moves their arms and legs.”

Prichard points out in his forthcoming book Beyond Muscle that training muscles (fitness, strength and stretching) is also a 2,000-year-old technology.

Fortunately, there are other systems in the body far more efficient than the muscles. Prichard describes these other systems in detail in his book, along with his work improving performance far beyond conventional muscle-based training.

His examples are numerous. A shortstop increased his bases stolen from 14/15 to 32/33 after working with Prichard for just one week. A college pitcher increased his velocity from the mid-80’s to 92 mph and his strikes thrown by 50%, also in one week. A college player improved his 40-yard time in one week from 4.92 seconds to 4.27 seconds. A high school baseball team improved its batting average from .321 to .382, won the state championship and had a 51-4 summer season.

In addition to baseball players, Prichard’s 18 Olympic athletes have won 44 Gold Medals and set 11 World Records—all with one week’s training of non-muscle systems.
