Today more than 40 members of the National Association of City Developers had a tour of the famous Ybor Square campus of the Church of Scientology of Tampa.

This is the first cigar factory built in Tampa. It has been painstakingly restored and renovated so that all the original structure is visible. Some modern day amenities have been dropped into the structures, but in a way that does not disrupt the original aesthetic. A surprising number of features have been left in place just because they are of historic interest, such as the lector platform from which the news or stories were read to the workers.

Dr. Wally Reyes, a renowned Tampa historian gave the tour lecture, which was hosted by the Ybor City Development Corporation. The great care and expense that the Church of Scientology expended to achieve these beautiful results was noted. The works of masters of the past, and the history of how we have arrived where we are, are important. This is part of the social betterment policies followed by the Church through such programs as The Way to Happiness.

"The way to happiness requires that one set a good example for others.", L. Ron Hubbard.
