Lux Morningstar’s life wasn’t easy. Born into poverty, Lux grew up surrounded by chaos. His parents divorced when he was just a child, and what followed was a life of instability. Constantly moving between homes, switching schools, and enduring the abuse of his stepmother left Lux feeling isolated and lost.
“I never felt like I belonged,” Lux recalls. “My mom’s boyfriends were abusive, and my dad’s new wife didn’t want me around. I spent most of my time outside, just trying to escape.”
Despite these challenges, Lux discovered two passions that would shape his life: art and skateboarding.
Finding Freedom on Four Wheels
Lux’s escape from the turbulence of his childhood came through a chance encounter with skateboarding. A friend gave him his first skateboard, and from that moment, the streets became both his sanctuary and his canvas.
“Skateboarding gave me a sense of freedom,” Lux shares. “It didn’t matter what was happening at home; when I was skating, I felt alive.”
Drawing on his natural artistic talent, Lux began customizing his boards with unique designs. His creativity and raw skill even caught the attention of Blind Skateboards, nearly earning him a sponsorship. In the early 2000s, he was featured in several skateboarding magazines, a testament to his potential.
But life had other plans. After years of being told that skateboarding wouldn’t lead anywhere, Lux gave up on his dream. For a time, he turned his focus to tattooing, channeling his artistic passion into ink.
A Comeback Story
Years later, Lux found his way back to skateboarding. This time, he was determined to approach it on his own terms. Using his art, he began creating custom skateboards and founded Cunt Sk8boards, a brand that embodies rebellion, creativity, and community.
“Skateboarding saved me,” Lux says. “It was my escape as a kid, and now I want to give that back to others. Cunt Sk8boards is about more than just decks; it’s about building a community where skaters can feel like they belong.”
Building a Movement
Cunt Sk8boards is more than a brand; it’s a reflection of Lux’s journey. Each skateboard is handcrafted in the USA, showcasing the same passion and artistry that saved Lux during his darkest times. Now, Lux is using his platform to give back to the skateboarding community, sponsoring new talent and hosting competitions to inspire the next generation of skaters.
“I know what it’s like to feel forgotten,” Lux explains. “That’s why I want to create opportunities for skaters who feel like they don’t have a chance. Whether it’s through sponsorships, competitions, or just being part of the culture, Cunt Sk8boards is here to support them.”
A Heartwarming Finish
Lux’s story is one of resilience, creativity, and the power of finding your passion. From a troubled childhood to building a brand that’s making waves in the skateboarding world, Lux Morningstar is proof that with determination and a little creativity, you can turn even the toughest circumstances into something extraordinary.
Today, Cunt Sk8boards isn’t just saving Lux; it’s saving others, one deck at a time.
