The concept of remote work is appealing in modern workspaces. A quick search on Google Trends shows that terms such as remote work, work from home, and telecommute have been steadily gaining popularity since the early 2000s and peaked at the pandemic in March 2020.

The growing popularity of long-distance work has also attracted employees to pay attention. Since it was impossible to work from the office in early 2020, 90 percent of global businesses have switched to remote mode. But is this just a solution to the pandemic or are there other benefits of working from home that you still need to pay attention to after leaving the pandemic community? Before exploring it, look at where it all started.

History of Remote Work
Believe it or not, remote work is the default state of human activity before the Industrial Revolution. Only ministers, priests, and royals go to work. Potters, blacksmiths, jewelers, and blacksmiths worked outside their homes throughout the day and learned about the benefits of WFH.

Factories and industries started when the Industrial Revolution took place. People started ‘going to work’. This is a big change from traditional money making methods. As modern offices began to show up in the ‘60s, people became more familiar with‘ offices ’as we know them today. Still, the biggest game changer is the invention of the Internet.

As technology developed with the help of the Internet, services such as Wi-Fi became more widely available and allowed people to work from anywhere with the newly discovered connectivity. As people began to see the benefits of the WFH, their preference for long-distance work grew slowly and steadily, but in 2020, long-distance work was attracted to the fast drive as it affected the pandemic world this year.
