The Department of Civil Engineering aims to create responsible civil engineers with technical competence and managerial ability to excel in modern day competition and ultimately contribute towards strong nation building. SCE take the privilege to welcome the students to the Department of Civil Engineering. The aim of the department is to impart the students a sound knowledge of the theory of civil engineering subjects with exposure to practical knowledge through laboratories and field study. Students of SCE are cunning in technical aspects & a solid practical awareness and exposure in addition to development of strong interpersonal skills, a vital ingredient to excel in the fast-paced world. The Faculty of SCE is active in carrying out sponsored research projects. The faculty members are having rich experience in handling sponsored research projects as dealing with projects of different level is also one of the learning phase of a civil Engineer so that they can implement the experience from these projects in their future Job .

The department aims at imparting a high quality education and producing industry ready professionals in Civil Engineering. To realize this aim, the department has recruited highly qualified and experienced faculty and set up labs which have latest equipment for teaching, demonstration and research. To ensure the relevance and currency of curriculum, professionals from industry and distinguished professors from IITs and other renowned institutions are actively involved in curriculum development, guest lectures and project evaluations. The curriculum also includes multidisciplinary courses aimed at producing professionals with broader domain of knowledge.

The program emphasizes interdisciplinary team work, communication skills, tools and skills for professional practice, and lifelong learning. We strive to ensure that our graduates understand professional ethics and the value of service to their profession and society through involvement in community, state, and national organizations.
