Celebrity Inspiration: Creating the Perfect Wedding Day Look

Continuing on the fashion high that came along with the 73rd Annual Golden Globe Awards this past Sunday, celebrity red carpet looks are often coveted by people around the world, but are they realistic options for the every day wearer? You, dear readers, are in luck. With the right styling and a little hair and makeup magic, you or your bridal party can turn your wedding into a pure red carpet moment.

One of our best-dressed choices from Sunday night was Rosie Huntington-Whitely. The actress’ Versace gown would have any group of maids looking utterly glamorous. Take this Jenny Yoo glitter knit dress in Glam Nude from Wedding Belles, add in the Kate McNee Designs New Orleans gilt clover crown and your bridesmaids are ready for the Big Day.

Another trend spotted on the red carpet was an interesting neckline detail. High necklines that highlighted the face are a lovely detail for any bride. Celebrities like Jennifer Lawrence and Laverne Cox opted for a slimmer silhouette to pair with the neckline, but this Blush by Haley Paige Holland ivory ball gown (found at The Bridal Boutique by MaeMe) will definitely do the trick.

Opposite from a high neckline, many stars opted for a low, plunging neckline. Jaimie Alexander, Jenna Dewan Tatum and Olivia Wilde all looked stunning with their gowns perfectly on trend. This Watters “Santina” gown with an illusion neckline, available at Pearl's Place, gives the wearer the same trend, but with a little extra detail suitable for their wedding day.

Of course, we can’t forget the gentleman. While most male celebrities opted for simple, sophisticated black tux options, a couple of stand out gentlemen went for a more colorful look. David Oyelowo brought color and pattern to his red carpet look. Pair your gentleman in this Private Label velvet dinner jacket or opt for a Bryan Michaels slim fit merlot colored tuxedo – both from from Tuxedos to Geaux.

Whether you opt for a high neckline or plunging drama, a little flashy sequins or some red detailing, make sure you feel like the ultimate star on your Big Day.
