[AUSTRALIA, 30 JUNE, 2016] – FitnessU is known for opening up career opportunities in the fitness world by offering various training courses. It has been doing so for over 25 years.

Certificate III In Fitness: A Personal Trainer’s Pre-requisite

FitnessU introduces its SIS30313-Certificate III in Fitness training course, designed for anyone wanting to be a gym/personal trainer. Those who pursue this program can expect to learn skills involving assessment, training, and supervision of different people in health & fitness centres, sports centres, local gyms, and community organisations. Trainees will also be taught the basics of both group and individual teaching competencies.

The Course In Detail

FitnessU’s SIS30313-Certificate III In Fitness program is defined as an entry-level course. It serves as a pre-requisite to applying for and completing the SIS40210 Certificate IV course. The former is divided into 9 modules, each covering various topics which include gym safety, body physiology during exercise, health assessments, and proper nutrition. Since it’s an entry level course, it does not require any prerequisites.

Defining A Fitness Instructor’s Role

The Certificate III In Fitness course defines four major roles for the aspiring fitness instructor. These are as follows:

- Conduct initial client induction, which includes basic screening, fitness assessment, training program development, and exercise instruction;
- Design personalised training programs focusing on long-term development;
- Critique exercise techniques and apply various instructional strategies for optimal results;
- Conduct regular fitness appraisals to track progress and adjust the program accordingly.
