The department of Mechanical Engineering was started in the year 1994. The department offers B.Tech program in Mechanical Engineering. At present the department intake capacity is 180 students per year in the B.Tech level. =

 
B.Tech. Mechanical Engineering is a 4-year undergraduate course and is one of the most sought-after degree courses in engineering stream. The eligibility to take admission in this course is 10+2 pass or equivalent. Admission process for the same is generally entrance-exam based.

JEE Main, BITSAT, COMEDK, UPSEE, VITEEE, SRMJEEE are some such entrance exams conducted for admission to various Mechanical Engineering colleges. Mechanical Engineering is the oldest branch of engineering.
