Shah Peerally Productions Inc. (SPP) was founded by Shah Peerally. Shah Peerally is a well known attorney and civil activist, practicing immigration law and debt settlement in California.

Newark CA – From the Shah Peerally Productions, comes the latest story of an ‘American Dream’. Co-written and produced by Shah Peerally, ‘Shattered Freedom’, is an episode from the series ‘The Immigration Lawyer’. This is a film that every immigrant should relate to. The film is a pure fiction inspired by Mr. Peerally’s and his law firm’s experiences, his struggle through life, the hardships he has seen in his career as a lawyer, the deceit and above all the hope of living the American Dream that survives amidst it all. It is about being offered the opportunities that one did not know existed, within the American society and American legal system.

Directed by Renato Asuncion, Joe Barcelone and Manny Valencia, the music is by Mahesh Mishra, Parminder Guri, Samir Date, Somaiya Dipalee, Geeta Madhuri and the choreography by Anna Attrey, ‘Shattered Freedom‘, is the story of a woman, Jasmine(Yasmine) who has survived tremendous odds and an abusive relationship. She comes to the United States with a dream and the story recounts how that dream is shattered bit by bit, but how she emerges in the end and what happens to her. The other story included in this movie is the story of Ahmad, a man fleeing Iraq and ultimately and facing the difficulties of coming to the United States. The movie showcases new local talents and has been produced entirely in the Bay Area California. Shattered Freedom is part of the series The Immigration Lawyer, a series which will cover different issues relating to immigration law including immigration interviews, the immigration court, asylum, student visas, H4 visa issues, human trafficking and other social issues.

Interestingly, the film and its story also show the resources present in the American legal system, which are there to help victims with immigration problems. Shah Peerally who is a well known attorney and civil right activist, seeks to add his experiences about the immigration law and hence the story of the film becomes much more than an ordinary story and actually shows how immigrants who have gone through similar experiences can fight back. In that this film is of tremendous importance, because it contains experienced inputs from real life of immigration attorneys. In fact, the movie and the series are an attempt to cover major social issues related to immigration and immigrants.

The film stars, Shah Peerally as a lawyer, Dr. Pannu as a dentist, Pavneet Saluja, Jimmy Sidhu, Jagruti Shah, Sameer Khera, Naz Khan, Mohini Foryan, Harish Sharma, Waqas Younus, Chaz Laredo, Akram Khan, Pawan Bangar, Ritu Nischal, Navin Tekchandani, Jennifer Spence, Kasim Mohammadi, Hamed Rasti, Poonam Sansanwal, and many other very talented Bay Area individuals. The film covers a whole gamut of issues ranging from immigration laws to social issues and marital abuses, and the fears of immigrants.

The story is a hard hitting one and showcases the fears of many women, who have actually been taken advantage of and been abused by different relationships and being threatened of deportation and how the application of VAWA (Violence Against Women Act) and other immigration and nationality laws can help them. In addition, the story includes the immigration nightmare of a man leaving a war-thorn country. “Shattered Freedom” is an attempt by the Shah Peerally Production house to give hope to and educate immigrants who have been in abusive situations. The idea is to guide them in the path to citizenship and the “American Dream” that made them ultimately come to the United States. The movie prepares people to understand the actual difficulties faced by individuals while trying to enter and stay in the United States. It features the hardships of dealing with the departments which are entrusted to protect the country and which controls the number of immigrants entering and living in the United States.

With its films, documentaries and radio shows, the Shah Peerally Production house has actually three important goals in mind: 1) educate immigrants about their rights 2) give a chance to local talents and 3) recognize lawyers and other individuals fighting for human and civil rights.
Perhaps the main aim of the production house can be summed up in these few powerful words from Shah Peerally himself: “…if we can save one person from deportation through this film, the Shah Peerally Productions’ goal would actually have been achieved…”.
