Even better than fixing problems is avoiding them in the first place.

California, USA – Even better than fixing problems is avoiding them in the first place. Timely oil changes and maintaining safe properly inflated tires are two of the easiest and most cost efficient ways to avoid car problems and keep life running smoothly.

A troubling trend has emerged, with the current economic decline; drivers are delaying oil changes and replacement of new tires. This is not unusual for a recession, cutting expenses is one way the public has of dealing with economic woes such as loss of wages or higher prices of necessities. However, this is often false economy.

With the scheduling of an oil change Tustin drivers are not only insuring the welfare of the vehicle’s engine but also saving money in other ways. Besides reducing wear and tear on the engine, a well-lubricated engine also saves gas by reducing friction and allowing the pistons to work more freely.

In addition to keeping to a schedule for oil changes, it is also a good idea to check the oil between changes to catch any oil leaks. Never ignore your oil light but do not assume that just because it doesn’t come on that everything is all right. Paying attention and checking under a vehicle can save many car repair headaches.

Four-wheel drivers need to take a tip from truck drivers and do a quick visual check of their tires periodically. The first step is being aware of the tread. Is the tread getting low? Is the tread wearing unevenly?

Keeping a tire gauge handy and using it to check tire pressure cannot only extend the life of tires but also save gasoline. As tires become low on air, they require more energy to keep a car in motion. Tire replacement is not always necessary when a tire problem shows up. For tire repair, Irvine residents can go to the same places they buy their tires.
