The holidays are near, and you have got a serious case of wanderlust. After those long months of studies, work, or being cooped up indoors in general, you long for a holiday under the sun, bathing amidst the waves, and having a cool, tropical breeze at every step. Indonesia has long been a popular tourist destination because of their very location and geography—a tropical archipelago—in itself is already one part to the recipe for a perfect holiday. There are various destinations which one can choose from the thousands of island that make up Indonesia. Most holiday goers may even already are familiar with Bali, with its shores and nightlife and culture. But precisely because of this popularity, some have already gone there and wish to experience something new, or are looking other options where they can spend their days unwinding in peace. The island of Lombok is a haven for such needs.

Lombok is a small island located in the West Tenggara Timor province in Indonesia. It is relatively near from Bali, to which Tour Lombok is separated by the Lombok strait to its west. This island is highly accessible through sea or via airplane from mainland Java or from Bali. What makes Lombok so special is its still pure state-- the sands are still untarnished and white, the waves a deep hue of blue-- that makes it the perfect place for holiday goers looking for a serene yet exciting destination. Lombok is notable for its landscapes, having various natural attractions which are all equally breathtaking in their own rights. If you are looking for a lombok tour, these are a few landmarks which you cannot miss.

One of the most popular tourist destinations in Lombok is the Gili Islands. The Gili islands are comprised of three small islands located on the west of Lombok’s main island. Like ripples made by the throwing of a rock on the clear surface of a pond, the Gili islands are renowned for their natural beauty, their lush forests trimmed by white beaches making them similar to emeralds set in an azure sea. The waters on Gili’s shores are of a clear blue hue, which makes it a perfect place for surfing and bathing. You can also go diving here, and marvel and the luscious underwater ‘parks’ comprised of marine flora while various colorful species of fish swim past you. These hubs of paradise can be reached via motorboat, which makes the trip, and not only the stay, there exciting. You can spend a few hours reclining under the sun, but for a more thorough experience, you can spend the night on the islands’ various hostels.

There are a myriad of beautiful beaches which you can visit in the Lombok main island. The Kuta beach, although bears semblance in name to another beach in Bali, is much less crowded, and still very much keeps its natural beauty of white sands, blue green waves, and just the perfect amount of sun. Equal fun and relaxation can be had in the Sengigi beach, which provide inns and bungalows for you to stay in and enjoy the view for the rest of your stay.

Despite being an island, Lombok’s beauty is not only limited to its beaches. Surprisingly, this little plot of land is also home to a volcano, the Rinjani. The more adventurous among us may venture for hiking trips, while the national park surrounding the volcano provide recluse for those interested interested in strolling and sightseeing. The national park covers a range of natural beauties, from waterfalls, to the lake of Segara Anaknya. Like everything in Lombok, this lake is famous because of natural it still is. The Rinjani natural park provides a serene alternative from the sunny beaches of the isles. Be it for excitement or relaxation, Lombok provides the answers for your holiday needs.
