Dr. Gerald Schell received his Doctor of medicine degree from Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine before completing a neurosurgical rotation at Syracuse University. The university later offered him the directorship of its neurosurgical training program, which he declined to continue caring for the needs of Michigan patients.
