The invention of smart phones has really done a lot for the common user, but in some ways, it has made it hard for app developers and website owners to pin point exactly where they go wrong with their products. The way people behave on their personal computers and how they behave on their mobile devices is totally different and that is why people have developed mobile analytics and app analytics. These types of marketing tools will help you a lot in knowing what your audiences want, and is not that what marketing is all about?

There are a lot of companies that are jumping aboard the analytics craze because after all, it is a very good method of figuring out what your customers want. Knowledge is a very powerful tool and if a company knows what their audiences want, then they are more likely to deliver a good product and of course, a more profitable one. But let us see closely how these types of marketing tools can help you.

First of all, we shall talk about mobile analytics. As stated above, there is a great difference between how people devote their attention to a certain website when they are on a PC or on a mobile device. When a person is on a PC, they dedicate more time on what is on the screen, while with a phone this is not always the case. For example, a person may access your website and look at it for about 10 seconds and then be called for an appointment. The person does not close the website, but simply lock the screen and put the phone in a pocket. It may seem at first, that this person has spent 45 minutes on your website, when actually only those first 10 seconds count. Mobile analytics permits you to see the real time a person staid on your website and also details regarding what operating systems and browsers were used to access your website and also what design elements attract and retain attention.

App analytics allows you to collect a lot of data about your users so that you can understand who is using your application and how to attract more people to it! Most of the marketing we see today is a more ‘Test – Measure – Tweak’ type of process. App analytics permits you to collect data like the geographical position of your users, the time the users use the app most, what type of mobile device they are using and what type of advertising is working best. Getting to know your users and their preferences makes it possible for you to tailor your marketing efforts so that you have the highest possible return on your investment.
