Professional Biography

“I had begun my career in 1985 with BDO Ward Malette and have worked at the Guardian Insurance in 1990”, said the CFO of The Economic Insurance Group (a.k.a. The Group). His ambitious mind knew no bounds, and as time took a leap, he exposed himself to various roles. He was once a Vice President Treasurer, and Broker Network at ING Canada. As time took a leap, he joined the current organisation after gathering 17 years of professional experience.

Currently, he leads all the committees of The Group’s Board of Directors, which includes Pension, Human Resources, Governance and Conduct, Investment and Audit. Besides the stated role, he is an active member of the Board of Directors for Family Insurance Solutions Inc., The Mattei Companies and the TEIG Holding Company, Inc. He is also the acting President of the last organisation.

Over these six years, he has managed the financial resources of The Group and built his career strong enough to contest for the CFO of the Year Award. He has academically excelled as a graduate in Bachelor of Business Administration at Brock University. “After becoming a Chartered Accountant in 1989, I went for an MBA at the Richard Ivey School of Business in 1999”, said the ICAO member.

From what has been discussed, his portfolio appears strong and inspirational. He deserves not only the CGO nomination, but also the Award. During his tenure, he has gathered experience in creating and executing effective strategic planning and financial modelling procedures, responsible for driving the corporate business plan.
