There are many car launches happening every month. But, there are many old models which are still being used and have created a special place in the hearts of their users. We bring 3 such cars from the past which are very popular.

Car manufacturers produce many new models and the same are launched almost every month. There are many cars that go off the road too. The automobile giants stop manufacturing some models and replace them with upgraded ones.

However, some cars that are not being produced are still seen on the roads. The users do not dispose these cars, as either they are too attached with them or the vehicles are giving them good service even after many years that they do not find the need to sell them.

With new launches and upgraded models available in the market, there are still some old cars that have not lost their place in the auto market. The 3 most popular among these include:

Maruti 800: Maruti Suzuki introduced this car in 1983 in India. Smt. Indira Gandhi who was the Prime Minister then, had ordered for a ‘people’s car’ for the country. The result was the Maruti 800. This car till date is one of the most influential cars ever sold in the country. Out of the 2.87 million cars produced, 2.66 million were sold in India. The car gives a maximum speed of 115 km/h (71 mph) and can muster from 0–100 km/h (0–62 mph) in 18.8 seconds. It gives a highway mileage of 19 km/l, city mileage of 16 km/l, and overall mileage of 17 km/l.

Although Maruti Suzuki is not manufacturing these cars, but Maruti 800 Parts are available with leading dealers.

Maruti Zen: This 5-door hatchback gets its name from Zero Engine Noise. It was one of the most sought after cars of its time. Introduced in the year 1993 it underwent uplift in 2003 and the production was stopped in 2006. The car gave an overall mileage of 18 kmpl, a city mileage of 12 kmpl, and a highway mileage of 24.21 kmpl.
