Types to use: Micellar water, cleansing gels.
Types to avoid: Soap bars.

Toner - Yes, again not much trouble ensues from normal skin type to warranty a toner. But some general gentle maintenance doesn't do harm. Sprinkling some after shower and patting the face dry can do wonders in bringing back youthfulness.

Types to use: Rose extracts with antioxidants that fight aging.

Serum - The normal skin type gives you the luxury to experiment with serums. You can layer serums to fight separate skin concerns or switch between products for seasonal concerns.

Moisturiser - This well balanced skin also has a T-zone on the forehead, nose, and chin combined that tends to get a bit oily.

Types to use: Products that have aloe vera with its amazing cooling properties.

Sunscreen - Organic, or inorganic, gel or cream, you can use practically any type of sunscreen here.

Facial Oil - One must avoid heavy oils.

Types to use: Rosemary oil for reducing congestion and also detox the skin. Chamomile, Tea Tree, and Patchouli are good for you for calming effects. For soothing properties, one can use Rose , Kesar, Rosehip, Sandalwood, etc. Orange peels will reduce pigmentation spots.

2. Dry Skin

Cleanser - Special care apart from washing the skin is what you need. One needs cleansers that clear away the grime and dust and impurities - but not at the cost of destroying the skin's natural oils.

Types to use: Hydrating moisturisers. These are made of glycerin or essential oils, to do the trick. A good natural skin care product cleanser will not make your facial skin feel tight and dry after washing.

Toner - The summer Sun turns the skin dry and flaky and pale too.

Types to use: Must have hyaluronic acid, Chamomile, Green tea etc. These are super hydrating and plump up the skin.

Serum - For dry skin, you need face serums that are layered with moisturisers.

Types to use: Ones with humectants as ingredients. These are hyaluronic acid, betaine, panthenol, glycerin etc. Ones with coconut extract, ceramides, plant based lipids, essential fatty acids, antioxidants like Vitamin C are also great choices.

Moisturiser - Oil based moisturisers are perfect. They seal the skin, retain water.

Types to use: Ones with active ingredients of jojoba or safflower. Also lactic acid if present, will gently moisturise.

Sunscreen - What one needs here is additional moisture. This is usually a cream that adds a top layer.

Types to use: Sunscreens with ceramides, hyaluronic acid, glycerin, honey etc.

Facial Oil - The problem here is inadequate moisture retention. You need something that protects the lipid barrier on the skin, plumps up the skin, and restores dullness.

Types to use: Cranberry seed oil with Omega fatty acids. It prevents dryness and irritation, soothes with its Vitamin C content, fights free radicals, reduces sun damage, and counters wrinkles, lines and elastin loss.

3. Oily Skin

Cleanser - Oily skin has enlarged pores, pimples, other blemishes. What you need for it is a foam based cleanser. You need oil protection regulation from the cleanser.

Types to use: Ones with AGA, BHA, niacinamide, charcoal, or clay as active ingredients. Oil control cleansers will dig deep to purify the pores.

Toner - Opt for toners with Salicylic Acid to help balance the oil on the skin or to simply remove the excess oil.

Types to use: Aloe vera based products. They soothe, smoothen the skin, refine the pores, and maintain pH balance.

Serum - Serums that can control oil production are needed. They will reduce the sebum, minimize the pores, and also absorb the oil.

Types to use: Ones with Niacinamide, or chlorantha extracts.

Moisturiser - Go only for water based lotions or gels. Check if they contain hyaluronic acid or glycerin, or urea.

Sunscreen - Oily skin demands gel formulas that give you a matte finish. They will include ingredients like tea tree oil, niacinamide, or green tea in a water based formula.

Facial Oil - Face oils are a must for oily skins. They replenish the skin's natural oil levels and also maintain the balance. This in turn helps prevent dehydration that is at the root of irritation and breakouts.

Types to use: Tamanu oil is a great facial oil for oily skin. These calm the skin, and also possess healing and anti-bacterial properties.
