Over the last 20 years, JAG Physical Therapy has served as the presenting sponsor for The Valerie Fund Walk & 5K Run, a fundraising event to raise money for children with cancer and blood disorders in the New Jersey, New York, and metro Philadelphia areas. This year’s walk, held on June 7th in Verona Park, NJ, saw 140 teams and more than 1,700 participants raise over $850,000 for the fund on the event’s 20th anniversary.
The Valerie Fund was first established in 1976 by Ed and Sue Goldstein in honor of their daughter, with a mission to bring pediatric care centers closer to home to better serve patients and their families throughout treatment. JAG Physical Therapy has served as a title sponsor for the annual race since its conception in 2005. Over the last 20 years, nearly 40,000 participants have joined the signature event to raise more than $13.4 million to support individuals within the organization who are battling childhood diseases.
“We’ve been honored to serve as a presenting sponsor for The Valerie Fund Walk & 5K Run over the last 20 years. Our team at JAG Physical Therapy takes immense pride in coming together each year and contributing to such an inspiring cause,” said John Gallucci Jr., President & CEO of JAG Physical Therapy. “Ed and Sue are doing amazing work and have significantly impacted the lives of many children in our community through their organization. It touches the hearts of many parents, including myself. We’re thrilled to continue our shared commitment of supporting, encouraging and providing care for The Valerie Fund children for years to come.”
The Valerie Fund Hospital first opened in 1977 and served as the first comprehensive care facility for children with cancer and blood disorders in New Jersey. Since then, Ed and Sue have expanded the organization’s reach, now located in eight major hospitals throughout the Tri-state and metro Philadelphia areas. The Valerie Fund centers host over 35,000 patient visits each year, greatly supporting children in need and driving accessibility for conveniently-located, compassionate services for pediatric cancer and blood disorder treatment.
