As a dual economics and Chinese major at The Pennsylvania State University, Ryan Elantri is confident that his college experience is equipping him with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in life after graduation. Ryan Elantri is also learning that extracurricular engagement through groups like the Penn State Investment Association and the Penn State Finance Society are instilling the knowledge and skills that will come in handy in the work environment. With early exposure, the path to becoming a business and finance professional will be that much easier. Today’s students know that the job market is a competitive one; Elantri is leaving nothing to chance. He is taking every possible step to separate himself from the crowd.
Ryan Elantri was selected from among 400 applicants to join 40 students in a Wall Street Boot Camp designed to prepare them for entry-level careers on Wall Street. The boot camp was conducted by industry professionals who took the participants through various topics such as securities, investment banking, and wealth management careers.
In spring 2015, Elantri was selected as a finalist in the 2015 Finance Society Stock Pitch Competition, which was a national contest sponsored by Seeking Alpha and judged by panelists from several bulge-bracket investment banks. By qualifying as a finalist, Ryan was awarded publication on seekingalpha.com and also granted lifetime access to the database contributor page.
Having confidence in his ability to succeed is a big part of Ryan Elantri’s mindset, whether at home or at school. An individual who is confident is able to motivate himself to accomplish his goals and set himself apart from the crowd. Even in a competitive job market, confidence and preparation are key ways to gain an advantage and position oneself for success.
