While China gallops ahead, thirtsty to learn about wine and spirits, India lags behind in wine and spirits education. One reason for this is the high taxes on wine which is affecting our small but dynamic wine industry, says Jude Mullins, international development director of the WSET (Wine and Spirit Education Trust), the London-based renowned educational institution now in India.
On the sidelines of the first ever Prowein Education Campaign held a short while ago in Mumbai, Ruma Singh watched as Jude Mullins led 3-days of sold-out education and informative sessions on wine and spirits. Later, during the interview, she asked about job prospects from wine education, and how India can catch up with China, which is booming.
This interview, along with two video interviews have been done by Ruma Singh, India’s foremost and most qualified wine journalist.
