When it comes time to buy a new car, there are a number of important factors to consider. Of course you’ll need to consider your budget so the cost of the car is an important factor. There’s something to be said about the style of a car as well. Another important factor that is sometimes overlooked is the reliability of the car. The longer a car will run the better investment it is. Every now and then a car comes along that seems like it will never quit. Here is a look at six cars that can seemingly drive forever.

Chevrolet Prizm

Though on the outside, the Prizm leaves a lot to be desired, under the hood, the engine is identical to Toyota Corolla’s. According to dealer trade-in figures, the average mileage for a Prizm at trade in was 136,402 miles and problems with the powertrain, transmission, or engine were rare. The Prizm received a reliability score of 69.1.

Pontiac Vibe

Just like the Chevrolet Prizm, the Pontiac Vibe’s engine was based on Toyota Corolla’s so reliability is a given. Average mileage at trade-in was 125,455 and it has a reliability score of 72.8. The Pontiac Vibe was discontinued in 2009 so it’s not hard to find one with 60,000 miles on it or less.

Ford E-Series Van

Ford’s E-Series van, sometimes referred to as Econoline vans was only just replaced in 2014 by the Ford Transit ending a 53 year run. Average odometer reading on an E-series van is 131,483 and it receives a reliability score of 77.8. They’re ideal for being used as work vehicles (airbrush art on the side is encouraged).

Toyota Camry

The Toyota Camry has been a part of Toyota’s lineup since 1982. Its reliability score is 80.4 and the average mileage is 145,496. When it comes to reliable cars, the Camry is one of the best. The base price for the 2015 Camry is just under $23,000.

Lexus GS

For those with more money to spend, the Lexus GS is a mid-sized luxury sedan. It has a reliability score of 76.8 and an average mileage of 142,057. The 2015 model starts at $55,000. Even buying used can be pricey because they don’t depreciate quickly.

Toyota Land Cruiser

The Land Cruiser is the king of all vehicles when it comes to reliability. It receives a perfect reliability score of 100 and the average odometer reading is 178,654 but they’ve been known to last a lot longer than that. The base price for a 2015 model is over $80,000.
