These are usually the people suffering from Pancreatitis or severe inflammation of the pancreas and from Cystic Fibrosis. Those with cancer of the Pancreas or any condition wherein the flow of enzymes from the Pancreas is blocked may also be given this drug. The main act of this drug is to help the digestive processes in the body.

Dosage and Administration

Always take dose as directed by your doctor. If advised to increase your dosage, always do so gradually, carefully monitoring your body’s reaction to the change. Never self-medicate or exceed the dosage prescribed to you. Typical dose is 1 or 2 Creon (Pancreatin) tablets per day, taken on a full stomach or alongside a meal. Tablets can be taken whole, or split and the contents poured into a drink or soft food. Do not chew if you mix the medication into food.

Side effects

Side effects can occur and the most commonly reported side effects of Creon (Pancreatin) are constipation, stomach pains, nausea, abnormal stool, increased uric acid.
