Blantyre surrounded by low hills & three mountain ranges is the capital city of Malawi. The best way to get around the city is either by foot or by minibus but during night Roomsxpert suggests you hire some reliable taxi sources. Each city has some pros & con. Chichiri Museum has an exhibition hall which displays history & culture of this place with some occasional traditional dance performances too. Outside the museum are some engines also on display which attracts kids of any age. Lake Malawi Museum holds significance related to the First World War. Chamare Museum, Mzuzu Regional Museum & few other options are also available to explore.

Blantyre has some perfect places to dine with the best atmosphere and a wide range of appetizers, drinks, and sea foods. Apart from their traditional food they have diverse options based on tourists’ demands from various regions. “Bombay Palace”, “Salt n Pepper” specialized in Indian food, “Hongkong Restaurant” and some outlets offering Chinese food attract a fair number of tourists always.

Day Tours

You will get to see travelers from nearby regions traveling here for commercial purposes. There are many shops run by Asians (Indians too) in the downtown area. Beware of muggers or robberies especially during the night. “Not that wealthy looks” for travelers are good from the safety point of view. Mirchu Mountain Conservation is good enough for a day long relaxation & to watch Malawi’s flora & fauna around. Zomba Plateau, Mount Mulanje, Tea Estates & Wildlife reserves are some other important visiting places.
