Romy Minko is an Australia based professional who has attended the Conference at University of Oxford -'Celebrating Women Across the Mathematical Sciences'. Here, she listened to several prominent female mathematicians speak, as well as current PhD students. Her motivation really get fueled by this experience which she will make use of continuing her education into research.

Romy Minko also had the privilege to speak to Kristin Lauter of Microsoft Research, who directed her towards the internship opportunities available to PhD students. She volunteered with a non-profit organization at Don Bosco Centre in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The work she was involved in was taking medication to poor families affected by AIDS and preparing relief packages for communities in poverty. At present, she is working as a Research Analyst at Charter Keck Cramer in Melbourne.
