In his mission to provide the best opportunities for success for the students of the Massena Central School District

Roger B Clough II and the Massena Central School District are pleased to announce their partnership with several of the community’s colleges and universities to provide exciting new opportunities for their high school students.

Among the Massena Central School District’s collegiate partners are St. Lawrence University, the State University of New York at Canton, and the State University of New York at Potsdam. Through these collegiate partners, Roger B Clough II and the Massena School District are able to provide both their staff and students with more opportunities.

Through their collaboration with St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York, Roger B Clough II and the Massena Central School District are able to offer their students more comprehensive and relevant Tech Prep programs. By working with the university to see the level at which they expect incoming students to perform, as well as see the offering available to the university’s students, Roger B Clough II has been able to work with those in the school district to reformulate the district’s course offerings to better prepare its students for what they will face during their post-secondary education.

Roger B Clough II also believes that one of the best ways to better prepare students is to better prepare their teachers. To that end, Roger B Clough II and the Massena School District have partnered with the State University of New York at Potsdam to offer professional development opportunities to reading and grade-level educators through the university’s Summer Institute.

Continuing their relationship with the state’s local colleges and university, Roger B Clough II and the Massena Central School District have also established a partnership with the State University of New York at Canton. The State University of New York at Canton offers a “Smart Scholars Program.” The program allows high school students to earn up to 20 hours of college credit. Through a special arrangement with the university, Roger B Clough II has arranged to make this opportunity available to students enrolled in the district’s alternative education program as well.

Roger B Clough II is proud of the relationships that he and the school district have been able to establish with neighboring colleges and universities. “These relationships enable the district to do great things for its staff and students, and continue improving what our students are able to accomplish in their time with us,” said Roger B Clough II.
