Rodney Tippit recently celebrated twenty years of working in the furniture industry. He grew up in Odessa, West Texas, but later moved to Austin, Lubbock, Midland, Victoria, and Houston in Texas because of the career choice he made to work in the furniture industry. As an accomplished and versatile business management professional, he has worked extensively in developing and implementing business operations and growth strategies for the furniture industry.

Over the years, Rodney Tippit/ has held various managerial positions. He started his career in the furniture industry working as the Store Manager at Lack’s Furniture in Lubbock, Texas between 1992 to 1996. Tippit quickly worked his way up the ladder and took up other top level managerial positions at various other firms in Texas.

While working as the Manager of Product Development and Merchandising at Dickson Furniture Industries, he was responsible for product development, international outsourcing and negotiations with manufacturing companies from China, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Malaysia for case goods (master bedroom, youth bedroom, and dining room furniture) based on market trends and customer demand in the United States. He showed excellent leadership skills in managing forecasting, purchasing, and inventory for four warehouses in Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, and El Paso. During his time at Dickson Furniture Industries, he redeveloped the image and marketing campaign for the company’s wholesale division and directly worked with sales staff to meet retailer’s expectations.

Rodney Tippit is a business executive with excellent leadership skills, much of which he acquired during the two decades he worked in the furniture industry.
