Long Beach, MS (June 24, 2017):- Who would ever believe that this was a start of a new adventure for two sisters (Barbara Peters and Ann Crowe), living in Long Beach, Mississippi? It began when Barbara decided to retire from the hustle and bustle of the Metro Area of Washington, D. C. Ann’s husband, James, indicated that it would be a good idea if Barbara came to live with them. It would help each of us with our limited retirement salary. Of course, she agreed. Ann and James then helped her moved to Long Beach, MS in June 2005. Guess What! In August 2005, they got hit by Hurricane Katrina and had to evacuate for 4 months while their house was getting repaired. Even though they went through a lot because of Katrina, Barbara is still staying here in MS as there is snow up North.

In late 2016, Ann’s husband, having been ill for some time, passed away from cancer and congested heart failure. This has been an adjustment for both sisters. It also brought memories of Barbara’s husband passing of cancer in 1990. It took a lot of time for Ann to get all the legal papers completed and in order. God was with us and helped us pull through.

Now as two single-widowed women, Barbara and Ann decided that they needed to get involved with a business; that’s right, a business. They are both retired Federal Government workers. Barbara was a management analyst for the Inspector General at the Naval Research Laboratory and Ann was a Position Classifier working for various Navy organizations. Ann does stained glass products as a hobby and Barbara enjoys working on various aspects of the computer. Both of them enjoy working with home decorations and designs and thought this would be their great adventure. Barbara and Ann feel they can provide unique products at reasonable prices to their customers. Thus, the start of Unique In-Home Designs.
