FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

London, UK (November 25, 2014): Reworks, a social enterprise and a community interest company aims to promote their concept of ‘zero waste’ of textiles. The prime aim of the company is to viably re-purpose and up-cycle unused textiles and make them into chic and mainstream fashion products. They also help in reducing the overall textile’s dump. Not only this, Reworks also offers training and mentoring fresh and creative talent in the UK to re-build and fortify the growth of this creative and manufacturing sector. Besides this, it will also help the country’s economy develop, boost the employment sector and also add a new dimension to the million dollar fashion industry.

The company sources these vintage end products from government surplus, rag yards and also from dead stocks from factory overruns. The best part however is, Reworks strives to buy such lots with a certain degree of uniformity such as leather biker jackets, denim jackets etc. The three prime sources of textiles are civilian rag (which are collected from road side bins), Factory over-runs & excess fabric and Government and military surplus. These are all part of the re-use program.

Reworks also recycle items by stitching and re-conditioning items to make them marketable. All items and washed and dyed also. However at certain times, the materials are in a far worse condition to be marketed. In such cases, the material is up-cycled and re-weaved to make it workable in the future. In a bid to recycle these objects, there are 4 types of solution that are offered namely Reworks Vintage (vintage distributors), reworks collections (recycled and up-cycled), RWKS componentry (by product of up cycling projects) and Reworks remade. These steps are pretty effective in re-using and re-cycling textiles and contributing to the booming fashion industry and economy in a bigger way.
