Bravo Foundation Boosts Youth Empowerment With Our Village Mentoring Program

Our Village Mentoring Program by The Bravo Foundation aims at addressing common and often damaging psychological and behavioral issues that affect inner-city youth these days.

 
Detroit (December 19, 2016) – The dawn of 21st century has brought with it an alarming deterioration of behavioral and psychological health of youth all over the world. Today’s youth are dealing with issues that their parents never had to deal with. Cyber-bullying, Human/Sex-Trafficking, and Domestic Violence are having a devastating toll on our youth and their families.

With the aim of addressing these issues, The Bravo Foundation has announced the commencement of Our Village Mentoring Program for the youth of Detroit in collaboration with Our Village, Inc., with the Skillman Foundation as its major funding sponsor. This program is currently being featured at Denby High School in Detroit, Michigan. The Skillman Foundation that was founded in 1960, is counted among the most venerable philanthropic organizations with assets worth half a billion dollars and annual grants budget of around 18 million. The foundation is devoted to the cause of improving graduation rates in Detroit and has an outstanding history of funding high quality schools, social innovation and youth development.

The Our Village Mentoring Program intends to bridge the communication gaps between youth and their parents. The layout of the program emphasizes upon critical topics that include cyber bullying, peer pressure, conflict resolution, self-esteem, domestic violence, financial literacy, and much more.

Featured online group mentoring and interactive and empowering workshop sessions with noted individuals influence participating youth in an extremely uplifting and productive manner. Students and parents are able to participate in online mentoring sessions, view upcoming workshops, and complete evaluations through the Bravo Foundation and Our Village, Inc. phone apps.

The Bravo Foundation’s concept of reaching youth by utilizing the technological components, such as, computers and cell phones, interactive in-person workshops, and group mentoring while involving parents is gaining interest of other schools wanting this program. Keeping in mind the cause of the program, a significant number of corporate investors have come forth to support funding in favor of the Bravo Foundation which has helped innumerable youth to have access to a better and brighter future without having to worry about costs.

The Bravo Foundation has expressed their enthusiasm in welcoming more corporate sponsors to participate in the betterment of the upcoming generations of Detroit and to expand this program to more schools. As has been expressed by young people who are currently in the program, the impact of the program is expected to be revolutionary and worth the approach.
