Council of the Gods is the latest app from Anachronic Designs, and is the outcome of an unfortunate series of terrible decisions by the organization's owner-operator and sole developer, Kevin. The release of Kevin's Council of the Gods, and the even more recent Random Game Idea Generator, have received very little fanfare for good reason.

Council of the Gods is a Heretical Pagan Fortune-Telling App and Tool of Divine Prophecy like the Magic 8-ball and infamous Ouija Board. Originally developed in the summer of 2014, the app was only recently released for Android on Google Play.

According to Kevin “it should have never seen the light of day.”

What Kevin means is that Anachronic Designs may re-brand in the near future, to something hip and contemporary like “Emperor.com” or “Rogue Lite” undoubtedly.

Contributing to this decision is a major blunder early in the app's marketing campaign. The press release announcing Council of the Gods was submitted to multiple media outlets with a typo in the title. The admittedly poorly-chosen brand name “Anachronic Designs” was input as “Ana Chronic” by an over-zealous and under-scrutinous SEO marketing contractor.

Embracing the mistake, Kevin assured us that the misspelling was not intentional, but that he is still:
“All about that gangsta shizzit”

The latest release from Ana Chronic Designs is a Random Game Idea Generator, available on Google Play and Itch.io. Kevin hopes that a few good chuckles from these procedurally-generated jokes will make up for missteps made with the Council of the Gods.

Looking forward, we asked Kevin if he thought the organizational structure of Anachronic Designs has anything to do with its many, many past failures. Kevin's answer was enlightening:

“Anachronic Designs is a perfectly horizontal flat organization, with a completely rigid vertical hierarchy. As sole owner-operator, I fill many roles like developer, producer, marketer, accountant, human resources manager... but really I'm just a team of equals. At the same time, I have absolute authority over myself in every decision I make. Surely that's a formula which can't lose.”

Such delusion will certainly only result in more random entertainment apps in the future. Will Kevin ever return to making games? He assures us that he may compete in a game competition or two, but that he'll probably “just make some kind of short text adventure thing this time because f*ck it.”

We expect more annoying announcements from Anachronic Designs in the future.
