According to Galmon, the aim of the course is to make sure that operators have gained the proper training in operating boom lift safely. The course is taught in English and Mandarin.
At the end of the course, Galmon says trainees are expected to select the appropriate MEWP for the task and conditions where it is to be used including the completion of a risk assessment. The trainees should carry out a pre-start inspection of the MEWP and state factors that affect its stability. More importantly, the trainees should identify common hazards during travelling, set-up, operation and parking of the MEWP.
Galmon adds that the course has MOM-Accredited Certification with 5-year validity. The course is for workers who are required to use boom lift in any form of work.
Qualifications
Galmon says there are certain qualifications for this course. Applicants should reach Workplace Literacy & Numeracy Level 3. They should be at least 18 years of age, physically fit with no handicap. They should have no problem with eyesight or hearing. More importantly, they should not be afraid of heights.
