Expansion in exhibit SQM
Born in 1993, Furniture China started at the exhibition space of 3,000 square meters. This record was far behind as to a world-class exhibition whereas it could be regarded as a firm foundation to a junior expo. Actually, the SQM figure didn't stay in its position for long. It was soon refreshed a year after in the second edition of Furniture China and kept growing ever since.

Till 2013, the furniture expo has reached a remarkable of 750,000 square meters, ranking one of the biggest furniture fairs throughout the globe. Despite some harsh years in between due to overall depression of global economy, Furniture China tried in effect to overcome economic obstacles and succeeded to buck the passive trend in a rather weak market.

Magnificent milestones during the exhibition history
1993
Furniture China was born in the year of 1993, founded by Shanghai Huazhan International Exhibition Ltd. It was initially held every two years at the beginning periods (1993-1997), building a promising platform for domestic and international furniture enterprises to open up the Chinese market.

1998
Allied with UBM Asia, Furniture China became a UBM exhibition, and obtained huge support from the UBM group. Most importantly, the organizer decided to make it an annual event that held for once a year in September.

2000
Furniture China grew from import-oriented trade show up to export-oriented, making great contribution to China's furniture industry as well as the international trade relations.

2002
Furniture China moved to Shanghai New Int'l Expo Centre (SNIEC) as the event venue displaying furniture products of diverse categories.

2008 - 2011
Furniture China placed equal emphasis on import and export, which meant furniture importing and exporting were both highly valued. On the other hand, the show organizer teamed up with JSWB, YUEXING Group and Red Star Macalline, establishing good cooperation that facilitated connections with renowned domestic furniture malls.

2012
Furniture China launched the session of Original Design and put forward lifestyle concept on stage. Design of Designers made its debut in 2012 as a sister event concurrently held with Furniture China.

2013
Furniture China strongly advocated original design & lifestyle. Trade visitors reach a new high of 85,313 including 21,131 overseas buyers from 144 countries and regions. New expo image "Kaleidoscope" was impressive which collected universal praise among exhibitors, traders and buyers worldwide.

Stepping to the year of 2014
In the year of 2014, Furniture China not only continues to improve the show facilities and service, but strive for a quality lifestyle exhibition.
