Researchers at Cedars-Sinai developed an artificial intelligence (AI) tool that could accurately predict who would get pancreatic cancer based on the appearance of their CT scan images years before the condition was discovered.

In an early trial to see if earlier detection was possible, using artificial intelligence to scour electronic health records in search of the subtle signs that people frequently present to their doctor years before a more advanced diagnosis of pancreatic cancer was made showed promise.

The AI was taught to examine CT images and search for specific alterations in the texture of the pancreas' surface that may be connected to the underlying molecular alterations that occur as pancreatic cancer develops.

Patients can have routine screenings of mammograms, for other cancers, like breast cancer, whether or not they have symptoms in a digital diagnostic centre. However, there are no such tests available for pancreatic cancer.

Most of the time, unless you were exhibiting symptoms, doctors would not scan you for pancreatic cancer. When symptoms manifest, they might be simple to mistake for those of other diseases.

Similar symptoms can also be seen in other, more widespread conditions like pancreatitis or ulcers. Men and women both experience the same symptoms of pancreatic cancer. To assist doctors in making diagnoses, Fujitsu Research has a proven track record in the research and development of technologies for the detection of various lesions on computed tomography (CT) images with AI and the retrieval of previous CT images with a similar distribution of lesions.

Digital diagnostic centres aid in detecting and have seen a significant increase in the number of pancreatic cancer patients who can be treated and saved through surgery through early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer as a result of using this technology to support the early detection of pancreatic cancer.

To make life easier for patients, Simira Diagnostics, a leading Digital diagnostic centre, offers a variety of Special Health Packages that you can choose from, staying true to its mission of providing top-notch healthcare services at reasonable prices. All pathology and imaging tests related to cancer are covered.

Dr. Ganesh Wakchaure and Dr. Santosh Wakchaure, the founders of Simira Diagnostic, hope their Digital Diagnostic centre will help people gain more accessible access to high-quality diagnostic services.
