Holiday park for rich foreigners
Burj al Babas consists of more than seven hundred white, French-looking castles including towers and ornaments. This gigantic project started five years ago and is intended as a holiday park for wealthy Arab holidaymakers. The village must become a complete holiday park with saunas, swimming pools, shopping centers and Turkish baths. The houses are a mix of Disney-like castles and French chateaus.
Spooky atmosphere
Due to the poor state of the Turkish economy and construction sector, the project has been standing still for a few months. The Burj al Babas contractor has temporarily stopped construction due to financial problems, but they have now started again. The sale is not really progressing yet. It is a strange sight, all those vacant villas. For the time being nobody lives there and there is a ghostly atmosphere. Whether it will ever be a cozy and lively holiday park remains to be seen. The Turkish economy is not picking up yet and foreign buyers have little faith in the project. And you hardly find a place where you can better see the status of the Turkish economy.
Plastic and Styrofoam
A holiday park 2.0, an occasional copy / paste error or just a place under the sun ... Call it what you want. If you have always dreamed of having your own castle or a holiday home, this is your chance. For a mere three to five tons you already have your own palace. We recommend that you first look before you purchase a chateau. Indeed, unusual materials were used for the construction of the castles. The French tiles are made of plastic and the ornaments are styrofoam.
