For over a year, now a golden frame in the skyline of Dubai perched. The Dubai Frame at Zabeel Park is now one of the most spectacular buildings in the city and fits seamlessly into the list of attractions worth seeing. The location between the old city center and the young districts is deliberately chosen, the building is supposed to symbolize the fusion of tradition and modernity in the metropolis. We set out to find out what else was behind the Dubai Frame besides the impressive facade, and took a look inside the golden picture frame.

A masterful engineering
On 01.01. 2018 was the time: The Dubai Frame was opened after many years of construction. Time for us to get a personal picture of the largest picture frame in the world. When we arrived at Zabeel Park, we were astonished: The dimensions of the building are truly impressive, and at the sight of the 150 meter high and 93 meter wide Dubai Frame it literally took our tongue off. In order to connect the two vertical towers in this airy height with the horizontal bridge, it required an architectural and engineering masterpiece. But it's not just the stately numbers that characterize the attraction, the gold-embossed stainless steel facades and the ornate embellishments in the design of the upcoming Expo 2020 are also beautiful to look at. In the sunlight, the entire building begins to shine and sparkle. The closer we get to the entrance, the more we capture the beautiful surroundings:Food trucks invite to snacks and freshly squeezed juices, green areas with palm trees, fountains and seating on the forecourt provide a welcome opportunity to take pictures and take selfies before and after your visit.

What is there to see?
But now it goes into the interior of the Dubai Frame. After a short queue in the queue, the tour starts through the picture frame. Visitors travel through the past, present and future of Dubai. On the ground floor, similar to the Dubai Museum , we find interesting details and insights into the origins of Dubai and the cultural traditions of the Emirates. The information is appealingly packed, moving 3D images give a vivid impression of this period. After about 15 minutes we drive with the glass panorama elevator to the top of the building - on the connecting bridge, which is the most popular section of the tour. With the high-tech lift, we rush through 48 floors in just 75 seconds.

Once at the top, we have an overwhelming 360-degree view of the entire metropolis. Due to the huge window fronts, we have both the old town with the Dubai Creek and the skyline with Downtown Dubai unobstructed view. A particular highlight of the connecting bridge is the floor equipped with glass panes: in the middle, a 25-square-meter, white-gray treadmill stretches. As soon as you enter the glass catwalk, the milky veil disappears under your feet and the gaze wanders directly down to the ground - a dizzying experience and not for the faint of heart!

The experience on the upper floor of the Dubai Frame is supplemented by instructive touch displays that show interesting details about the city's well-known and important buildings - depending on which direction you are looking at. Several neon-colored and large LED displays on the ceiling and on the side provide a worthwhile, futuristic look.

After about 20 minutes we take the elevator back to the ground floor at the other end of the bridge. After we get off, we come to a large hall, on the sides of a pompous 3D presentation runs. It shows Dubai in the future and gives all visitors an idea of which visionary plans the city is pursuing until the year 2050. The impressive computer animation shows flying cars and gigantic skyscrapers, as well as showing the ambitions Dubai city planners are pursuing for a sustainable energy supply and high-tech infrastructure.

Before we leave the Dubai Frame, let's have a look at the souvenir shop , where you can buy cups, shirts, key rings and much more with the logo of the big frame. On our way home, the dusk sets in slowly and sets in Zabeel Park a break, where we once again enjoy a wonderful view of the Dubai Frame, which now beautifully illuminates the night sky in all imaginable colors.

Is the visit to the Dubai Frame worth it?
Even if the visit is relatively entertaining, the entry is definitely worth the money. Converted about 11 € are quite appropriate for the great view, the spectacular ride on the lift and the numerous background information. It takes approximately 20 minutes to complete the section on the bridge, but visitors can stay on the platform for longer than the specified time. Finally, our conclusion is positive, the tour in the Dubai Frame is a successful mixture of a museum visit with observation deck and a portion of action, entertainment and fun . Even for children is a visit exciting, the many lights and animations provide bright eyes with the little ones.
