Peroxide disinfectant is a highly effective disinfectant, which mainly relies on strong oxidizing ability to sterilize. It can convert the -SH group in the cell enzyme protein into -SS- group, leading to loss of enzyme activity and interfering with cell metabolism.

Commonly used peroxide disinfectant are hydrogen peroxide, peracetic acid, chlorine dioxide, etc, which are mainly used for disinfection of air, surface of objects and skin.

Hydrogen peroxide has a very strong bactericidal ability, 3%-6% can kill most bacteria, 10%-25% concentration can kill all organisms including bacterial spores. Hydrogen peroxide fumigation can be used for air disinfection.

Peracetic acid is a kind of strong oxidant, which has strong sterilization ability and broad sterilization spectrum. It has no residual toxicity.

However, it has the disadvantages of poor stability, irritation and corrosiveness, so it is not suitable for metal disinfection.

After being dissolved and saturated in water, chlorine dioxide will naturally escape into the air in a gaseous state. When the effective concentration reaches 4mg/cm2, it can kill 99.99% of bacteria, viruses and fungi.
