Traveling has taught Richard Lide a lot about himself and has made him aware of the importance of helping others and improving his own community. He spends a lot of time working with charities and different organizations in Greensboro, North Carolina. He donates money and supplies to the local animals shelters every month and he hosts an annual clothing drive that runs for two weeks and helps impoverished children in the area get clothes for school.

Mr. Lide also enjoys working with the young children in his city and has coached numerous youth athletic teams. He played sports as a child and became more confident and athletic as a result. He hopes that he can motivate young children to go after their dreams and be successful. He is also quick to assist elderly residents who are in need as well. He mows grass for many elderly neighbors and delivers meals to those who do not have transportation.

Richard Lide is most proud of the soup kitchen he helped to establish in Greensboro. It started out small but he quickly built it up and was able to get enough support from the community to be able to afford over 400 families each month. He hopes to increase this number over time and offer more than just food to those in need. He encourages his friends and family members to help him with his philanthropic projects and is always happy to see other members of his city get involved as well.
