We at Renter Advocacy Collective are thrilled to announce the launch of www.renter.sg, a resource and news site providing information for renters and tenants in Singapore in a market where renters do not have enough protection against errant landlords. Renters will find helpful advice for navigating the rental landscape and read true life accounts of tenants and their experience with landlords.
Renter Advocacy Collective is also petitioning for new rules and regulations to strengthen renter rights in Singapore. The first petition calls for agents who are also landlords to declare their status as the landlord of properties they are showing. Landlords are not bound by codes of conduct in various estate agent organizations in Singapore. Renters should have the right to know upfront that the agent they are dealing with is also the landlord.
Further petitions are being explored to help increase renter rights in Singapore.
We invite everyone to explore www.renter.sg or our Facebook page and discover the resources available for renters and tenants to protect themselves and sign the petitions that will call for more rights for renters to level the playing field for renters.
