Refined Shale Gas’ new unit will operate in the Santos Basin and the commercial potential of these fields are supported by a large resource base, containing high quality, low sulphur content oil, as well as associated natural gas.

Refined Shale Gas’ Chief Operations Officer, Mr. Gabriel Oliveira commented on the new unit saying “We have specifically designed machinery to operate in pre-salt projects within the Santos Basin which will have a capacity to produce and process 120 thousand barrels of oil and 3 million cubic meters of natural gas on a daily basis. The new production unit is located approximately 213 km off the coast of Sao Paulo at a water depth of 2,140 meters.”

“Refined Shale Gas’ oil and natural gas production slightly decreased in the second quarter due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, production was still maintained but at a lower level. With the new operation now starting, we envisage a successful fourth quarter and a positive outlook for next year,” added Gabriel Oliveira, Chief Operations Officer of Refined Shale Gas.
