Refined Shale Gas discovered the Pirambu field last year in the pre-salts of the Campos Basin and 4 platforms are planned for construction by the beginning of 2022.

Refined Shale Gas’ strategic plan is to use the first platform which will be put into production by January 2021, and once the construction is complete, Refined Shale Gas expects a daily capacity to process up to 110,000 barrels of oil and compress up to 3 million cubic meters of natural gas.

Refined Shale Gas’ Chief Operations Officer, Mr. Gabriel Oliveira commented on the platform construction saying “The Pirambu field is located in the Campos Basin which is 230kms off the Rio de Janeiro’s state coast. The water depth stands at 1,860 meters and the platform will be used for production, storage and offloading of oil and gas. Drainage of oil production will be made through lifting vessels, while the production of gas shall be drained by the routes of the pre-salt gas pipelines from the Campos Basin.”
