JDP Fitness has realised that there is a popular misconception out there and it believes it’s necessary to bust it. A new study has found that, women are naturally fitter than men. The study claims that young women could be aerobically fitter than young men.
Like we all know, according to popular assumption, men supersede women on the fitness front. However, a research confirmed that it is actually the other way round. The main reason behind this claim is women are able to draw oxygen from the blood at a faster rate, which means they can actually outperform men.
To practically prove it, team of researchers measured the oxygen uptake and muscle oxygen extraction rates of some men and women while they were made to exercise on a treadmill.
To enlighten you on this practical test, all the participants were in the same age range and weight so that the researchers could come up with a fair result. All the participants were made to perform three moderate intensity treadmill exercises and it was during this time that their oxygen processes were closely observed and noted down.
The researchers concluded their study by stating that the nine female participants processed oxygen at an average rate of 30 per cent time faster compared to that of the men while exercising.
This ultimately means that the females can perform better and are less likely to experience muscle fatigue post-workout.
But this doesn’t have to mean that there are no ways men can avoid this muscle fatigue post-workout. Moreover, the possibility of some women experiencing muscle fatigue still remains.
