New Jersey-February 11, 2018- The Center for Network Therapy offers its clients ambulatory (outpatient) detoxification from anesthetics, stimulants, benzodiazepines, opiates, and alcohol. The Center for Network Therapy is led by an ASAM/ABAM certified doctor and trained nurses, who monitor the detoxification process making it a direct and safe alternative to inpatient detoxification. The period of stay in ambulatory (outpatient) detoxification is longer than inpatient detoxification, which enables gentler titration of medication and ensures that patients are more comfortable than in an inpatient setting. The clients also get the opportunity to go back home in the evening to spend time with their families.

Dr. Indra Cidambi, Medical Director, said, “At the Center for Network Therapy, we believe that substance abuse is a not moral failure but a chronic illness. Our mission is to make recovery possible for each person and family in need. We are built on the values of respect, and acceptance. We always treat our clients as equals and do not discriminate in any shape or form.”

In contrast to inpatient detoxification, the Center for Network Therapy’s outpatient drug detoxification program allows patients to go back to the comfort of their bed every night. The program also provides Wi-Fi access and lets patients keep their smartphones. This assists in decreasing the disruption to their everyday life because they can be in touch with their family, work, or friends. Most importantly, the outpatient detox program provides clients with the opportunity to practice the skills they learn and come back the following day and talk about what worked and what they struggled with. The facility’s therapists will work separately with the patients to help them in areas that they are experiencing difficulty.

Speaking of CNT, Indra Cidambi the Medical Director said, “At the Center for Network Therapy, we use the same established medication protocols (buprenorphine, Librium, Valium, etc.) as in inpatient detoxification. We also provide all detox-related medications at no cost to the patient and our nurses and ASAM board certified doctors monitor all our patients’ progress during the day and titrate medications based on individual needs. Each day comprises eight hours of planned treatment – individual or group therapy and self-help groups - length of stay at CNT is usually between 7 and 14 days.”

CNT surveyed its previous patients in 2016 and found that over 65% of them were sober longer than ninety days after going through ambulatory detox at their New Jersey facility. In stark contrast, inpatient detoxification has a 40% 90+ day sobriety rate, Due to this the ambulatory detox model is catching on at the expense of inpatient detoxification. Other major substance abuse treatment providers across the country are now following this model invented by CNT.
