German Life Insurance Ranking 2023

The new Life Insurance rating for 2023 has just been released by RealRate.

These are the top three Life Insurance companies in Germany, measured by Economic Capital Ratio:

1. HUK-COBURG LEBEN – 13%
2. BAYERISCHE BEAMTEN LEBEN – 12%
3. HELVETIA LEBEN – 22%

Founded in 1933 in Erfurt, Germany, the HUK-Coburg insurance group is one of the 10 largest German insurance groups. Total current assets are €10 billion.

Founded in 1858, Bayerische Beamten is also a strong and profitable player in the life insurance market. Its great strength is its exceptionally high underwriting profitability compared to the market average. This not only increases Bayerische's financial strength but also enables extremely high surplus participation for customers. Bayerische Beamten Life benefits from its excellent capitalization through equity and subordinated liabilities. It is thus ideally equipped for the future. Its current assets total €3.1 billion.

Helvetia Leben was formed in 1858 and based in St. Gallen, Switzerland. It assures more than 7 million customers with around 12,500 employees. Currently, it has total assets of €3.1 billion.
