How to become a Mariner from a Common Man

The journey towards becoming a mariner is not that rocky but it isn’t a cakewalk either.

 
Right after you pass your 12th board examination, you will be eligible to join various merchant navy courses like B.Sc. Nautical Science, B.E. Marine Engineering, B.E. Naval Architecture and Offshore Engineering, B.E. Petroleum Engineering, B.E. Mechanical Engineering, B.E. Harbour & Ocean Engineering, B.E. Civil Engineering, B.E. Electrical & Electronics Engineering, B.Sc. Marine Catering and Electro Technical Officer Course.

These eligibility criteria may differ according to the institutes you apply in. So, it's better to check the institute’s website before actually applying. One fact you need to acknowledge is, you need to pick from the best merchant navy colleges in India. There are many colleges offering 100% placement assistance. What you need to identify is that you need a good placement and not just assistance.
