Zara was founded in 1975 by Amancio Ortega and Rosalía Mera as a family business in the northern part of Spain, downtown Galicia. Zara SA, stylized as ZARA, is a Spanish apparel retailer based in Arteixo in Galicia. The company specializes in fast fashion, and products include clothing, accessories, shoes, swimwear, beauty, and perfumes. It is the largest company in the Inditex group, the world's largest apparel retailer. Zara as of 2017 manages up to 20 clothing collections a year.
Zara India FY21 results: Company posts first ever loss as sales shrink by 28% Inditex Trent, its joint venture with Tata that runs 21 of Zara stores in India, saw revenue fall to 1,126 crore and slipped into a net loss of Rs 41 crore last fiscal, according to Trent's annual report released on Thursday. Retailers such as Zara, Mango and H&M are highlighting "smart casual" trousers, shirts and dresses on their websites, alongside the lounge- and sportswear which lock downs made ubiquitous. Inditex said its net profit between February and July compared with a 195 million loss in the same period in 2020 but was still 17.5% below the 2019 first-half profit.
